The Australian Bakery Cafe – A Review

By Lindy Earl

Home of the Aussie Meat Pie. Who can resist a line like that?  If you’ve ever been on the Marietta Square, you know about The Australian Bakery Café.  Whether you are there for breakfast, lunch, a snack, or for their Bluegrass Jam on Tuesday nights, you’ll have a lovely time.  The best experience is when you happen upon one of the owners, who will greet you with a huge smile and say hello in an accent that is to die for.

This quaint space, with wooden floors and tables, offers an amazing array of delicacies, from full meals to scrumptious snacks.  You’re greeted with a smile and it just makes you feel like you belong there.  Maybe that’s why I have returned to this place so often – for the food, the people, the experience.

You need to know they have a sister store in Cumming, at 101 Colony Park Drive.  While I haven’t been to that one, I’m guessing it offers the same ambience, friendliness, and delicious offerings of their Marietta Square location, at 8 South Park Square in Marietta, GA 30060.  I encourage you stop in and say, “G’day, Mate!”
