Where Is the Balance?

By Regina Maria

The last two weeks I’ve had so much running through my head. It feels like I have so much to do, but when I get home, everything shuts down. I can’t wrap my head around anything. I start to do things and then my body says no..you need sleep. I’ve averaged five hours of sleep a night…which would make sense why I’m so tired.

I took time to rejuvenate my self by going to the beach for a day. But honestly, I feel that I need that for at least a month….my mind and body just needs rest. Our hearts and minds need rest as much as our bodies do. We overthink, we overdo, and we overwork ourselves without giving ourselves the time we need to rejuvenate.

Time spent alone, talking to Him. Time spent reading His word. Time spent in prayer. These are the things that keep us balanced. Without these we run ourselves ragged until we crash or have a meltdown. Finding time in our busy day is sometimes difficult, but look at it this way…without balance we feel disheveled, out of sorts, and worn out. Finding time for yourself is imperative to your well-being. Go for a walk, read, exercise, meditate, do whatever you need to do on a daily basis.

Give yourself the time you need so that you can be recharged and ready to go! Dear Heavenly Father- Thank you for this reminder. I have fallen into a routine that some days leaves no room for spending time alone and in Your word. Please help me find my balance once again. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
