Margarita Momma’s, Fayetteville Georgia

By Kenneth Stepp

My friend and I wanted to try a new place in her home town of Fayetteville Georgia. I’d heard about it from a few friends and I have a “thing” for Louisiana cooking. We found ourselves seated at a very roomy and comfortable table, starring at a menu to die for. It was Sunday, before 12:30. That means no drinking alcohol until after 12:30. This became relevant soon. One of the owners visited our table, she was pleasant, helpful, and would be our server. I was impressed right away.

My friend ordered a Ruben without bread with corn nuggets. I ordered the Cajun grouper with green beans. Both meals were incredible. The service was as good as I’ve personally ever had, portions were big, and most of all, they made us feel truly welcome. Southern hospitality at it’s finest. Remember the fact that they couldn’t serve alcohol until 12:30? Well, at 12:30, here they all came. Person after person came through the door and headed for the bar. Everyone knew one another, laughed drank, told jokes. I felt like I was at Cheers. This place hasn’t been open long. But they are knocking it out of the park.

It’s not often I spend time in a restaurant and it feels like home. Margarita Momma’s does this well. I asked if they had wifi, they do. I may have found myself a new favorite place to visit, sit at a table for one, and write for a while.

Recommending a place like this is easy. During the week they have karaoke, live bands, and what sounded like something fun and entertaining all weekend. Bring a friend or come alone. Everyone was very friendly.

They are located on the town square is a beautiful historic building with fantastic character. 119 Stonewall Ave E, Fayetteville Ga 30214
