Below is Joe Profit’s announcement that he is running for the Congressional seat currently held by Rob Woodall. Mr. Woodall has announced that he will not run for reelection so it’s good news to hear that a strong, capable candidate has decided to run for that office.
What a lot of people don’t realize is that Joe Profit has been has been active in Georgia politics for over 30 years, and he has a history being a unifying force who is able to successfully work across the aisle and get things done. Profit has served in a number of advisory and policy-making positions. Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. Bush appointed him to the Federal Reserve Bank, Atlanta, GA , Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Small Business Advisory Committee, the International Trade Board Subcommittee for Policy, International Trade Board Subcommittee for Policy, the White House Small Business Advisory Committee , and the U.S. Department of Transportation Advisory Board .
April 8, 2019- After much prayer and conversations with family and friends, today I’m declaring my candidacy to represent Georgia’s 7th Congressional District.
I’m running because I believe the District needs to retain the type of representation that truly understands the interests and aspirations of its diverse population. We have new challenges and new opportunities; and in order to move forward, we must do so in the best interest of our community.
I bring the type of perspective that is based on a winning, successful strategy that I gained through my personal life experiences. Along the way, I became a three-time author, published 16 kids’ books in two different languages, and raised my family.
As a member of Congress, I will work to open new paths to success and make existing paths easier to travel. I’m not interested in pointing fingers – I’m interested in solving problems. That means improving education opportunities, enabling private industry to create more jobs, empowering entrepreneurs to create businesses, and removing senseless roadblocks to individual success.
I’ve done that in the NFL. I’ve done that in business. I’ve done that in Georgia. I will do that in Washington!
