FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – Forsyth County Sheriff’s investigators believe a woman murdered her husband over the weekend, and then took her own life Monday morning with two children nearby.
The Sheriff’s Office released details Monday afternoon after spending the day investigating what happened.
The discovery took place at a house in the 5400 block of Memphis Street in north Forsyth County.
Detectives said they received a 911 call early Monday morning from a friend who became concerned about the people who live at the home.
When deputies arrived, they found the bodies of 50-year-old Adrian Lavaughan Brewster and 32-year-old Jackielyn Belangel Brewster.
“We believe the friend received a call or a text from either the man or the woman inside the house before calling us at 3:45 a.m. Once our deputies arrived, they went in to check and that’s when they found the adult male and adult female deceased,” said Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Doug Rainwater.
Two children under the age of 10 were also found unharmed near the front door of the home, according to deputies.
Neighbors told FOX 5’s Portia Bruner the boys are the dead couple’s son, but authorities would not confirm their identity.
The children are now staying with family members.
“I woke up to put my kids on the school bus and then discovered all this. I have no idea what happened. They were quiet people who kept to themselves,” neighbor Tienna Dyer said.
Deputies said there was no threat to nearby residents.
“No one is in danger. We are not searching for anyone right now. We do believe the crimes committed earlier this morning were contained to this house,” Rainwater said.
Investigators collected clues inside the house but would not elaborate on where the pair was found or how they died.
They told FOX 5’s Kaitlyn Pratt their investigation did not extend outside the couple’s home.
While he would not elaborate the history between law enforcement and the couple, the corporal did confirm this was not their first call to the couple’s home.
“We have had calls here before but nothing ever violent,” said Rainwater.
