I love the rustic look of some restaurants. And Georgia has some of the best. The small historic towns give us wonderful pieces of history to discover. Fayetteville was founded officially in 1825. But was a town long before that. Today I enjoyed a wonderful meal, a sunny deck outside, and one of the friendliest staffs around. This wasn’t my first time visiting the Olde Courthouse Tavern. I enjoy stopping in every now and then. They just simply, “do it right.” I had the Larry’s Choice, which is a chopped steak covered in onions, mushrooms, and brown gravy. A decadent plate full indeed.
The view was nice as well. Just a few feet of concrete from the back dect is a large home that belonged to Doc Holiday. Aside from being a dentist he was more famously known as a shootist and friend to Wyatt Earp. I love American history and today I was able to enjoy some quality time dreaming of what the town must have been like back then. You should visit Olde Courthouse Tavern when you can, and while you are there, take in the sights. The rich history, take a tour of the Holiday home, and the other fabulous old structures they have there. My next visit I will try to explore the old church just outside of town. It was also founded in 1825.
So plan an outing to Fayetteville Georgia. It’s a beautiful old southern town with a wonderful history. While there, enjoy the old architecture and the stories about how it became amazing. While there, visit The Courthouse Tavern on the town square. I don’t give a star rating, but if I did, they would have 5 of them. Established in 2010, biker friendly, always welcomes events, and if you love southern hospitality, you will feel like you are at home.
