ATLANTA: Uber driver attacked in violent carjacking in Buckhead

 – The Atlanta Police Department is on the hunt for one more suspect after an Uber driver was attacked during a violent carjacking Friday morning.

APD told FOX 5 the Uber driver was waiting at the corner of E. Paces Ferry Rd. NE and Maple Dr. NE in Buckhead about to pick up a ride.

The driver told police a man and woman with guns approached both sides of his car and demanded he get out.

The man pistol-whipped the Uber driver and yanked him out of the car, and then the man and woman took off in the car.

APD was able to trace the stolen car on I-75 NB to I-285. Officers started chasing the stolen car on I-285, and there was a short high-speed chase.

The robbers exited the freeway near Northside Drive and crashed the stolen car at a waffle house.

Three people got out of the car. APD arrested a man and a woman, but a third suspect got away.

Police describe him as a thin African American male with dreadlocks.

The Uber driver had some scratches on his face, but he did not need to go to the hospital.
