Union County Sheriff Mack Mason had one message for three people arrested in connection with a $600,000 drug bust: “Do not come to Union County to sell drug.”
Janice Ann Hall, 46, of Blairsville, Troy Allen Hall, 43, of Riceville, Tenn., and Melinda Ann Smallen, 54, of Niota, Tenn., remained in jail Tuesday, a week after authorities found six kilos of crystal meth in a Blairsville home, the Union County Sheriff’s Office said.
The drugs are worth an estimated $600,000 — the largest bust in the county, according to Drew Stewart, an investigator with the sheriff’s office.
Authorities seized the drugs from the home July 10, officials said. Several thousand dollars were recovered, too.
Janice Hall faces three counts of sale of methamphetamine and trafficking methamphetamine, officials said. Troy Hall faces charges of trafficking methamphetamine and illegal possession of a controlled substance, according to jail records. Smallen faces a trafficking charge. The relationship, if any, between Janice Hall and Troy Hall was not released.
They were not given bond.
