This Morning I Used “GOP” in a Sentence

Joe Profit- On the ballot for Georgia Congressional District 4

By Mario D. Robinson

This morning I used “GOP” in a sentence… I really don’t like talking politics on public forums, I focus on the micro rather than the macro because I can actually help more from a grassroots perspective. My focus is on the people closest to me- Family – Friends – Community – Personal Network #inthatorder

Now my mentor and good friend is a candidate for Congress; Joe Profit for Congress is his movement and he is running to represent Georgia’s 4th Congressional District. I’m a Democrat. Joe is a Republican. In this case, that does not matter. Joe Profit is exactly the kind of person we need in Congress.

I wish they could remove the #republican and #democrat titles, so we all could really get to know the men and women we put in office and simply vote for “good people” with track records of “doing the right thing for all people”

I’ll tell you why I’m voting for Joe Profit. I met him years ago through a business acquaintance and we became a family of sorts. We had our ups and downs and disagreements. We were friends doing business together and I learned new things every day in that environment. When our business venture ended, I maintained contact with him and he continued to teach me. He taught me about business and to check my ego when business wasn’t personal. He taught me business etiquette and introduced me to his NFL Alumni friends.

He allowed me to share office space in Buckhead and gave me an opportunity to pave my own way. He showed me how to make 8 Robinsons an official company and gave me contracts along the way. I was working for myself full time back then and had my son Jett with me most days. So as a toddler Jett would be sitting in corporate boardrooms quietly drawing, or in Joe’s office trying on his shoulder pads and helmet from his NFL days.

And when that office was no longer available and I took a job, Joe Profit still wouldn’t let me quit. We kept small contracts going while he taught me the importance of independent thinking. He taught me to never worry about how much another man makes, because that man’s money had absolutely no impact on my life. So I never spent time being star struck over the people we met; I was able to focus on my business.

I was hesitant when he asked me to help with his campaign; I spent months dodging his request, not sure I wanted to help a Republican. But then I remembered “the man” Joe Profit. My sons had stayed at his home, he and his wife has cooked for us, he taught me more about business than any college could have and he took me on my first airplane flight to a business meeting in Boca Raton, Florida. This is a man that cares about people at all levels. He reached down to me when I was at my lowest and not only helped me up, but showed me how to stay up. He gave me tools to protect myself and my family financially.

Joe Profit is on the ballot. I will vote for this man. You should do the same.
