Gwinnett Police trying to ID robber who held knife to man’s throat at local QT

By Isabel Hughes, Gwinnett Daily Post:

Gwinnett police are asking for help identifying a brazen robber who targeted a QuikTrip convenience store and then held a knife to a customer’s throat.

On Tuesday, the suspected walked into the QuikTrip on Old Peachtree Road in unincorporated Lawrenceville armed with a pocket knife, according to Cpl. Michele Pihera, spokeswoman for the Gwinnett County Police Department.

There, he demanded money from the cash register, Pihera said, though because the clerk couldn’t give him any money, he left the store.

“When the suspect got out into the parking lot, he approached the driver of a Jeep,” Pihera said. “When the driver of the Jeep rolled down his window, the suspect put the knife up to this throat and demanded money. The victim handed over a few hundred dollars.”

The suspect was last seen walking toward Dean Road and is described as a white man who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
