Road Rage: Man shot, critically wounded driving on Interstate 20

Fox 5 News

 – A man fights for his life after getting shot  overnight while driving on westbound I-20.

Just after 12:30 a.m. Friday morning Atlanta Police got a 9-1-1 call about shots fired near the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive exit.  Arriving officers found the 33 year old victim alone in his car.  They tell us he had been shot in the head.  Paramedics rushed him to Grady in critical condition.

Investigators think the gunman fired  multiple shots from another car, but don’t have a vehicle description.  Detectives didn’t locate a gun in the victim’s car.  So at least for now, this doesn’t appear to be a shootout.  Police found a number of shell casings at the scene, but haven’t been able to identify any surveillance video that will help with the investigation.  They hope the victim can help answer the question of what led up to the shooting and who possibly pulled the trigger, but can’t talk to the man due to the severity of his injuries.
