GEORGIA — Three Sears stores are closing for good soon in Georgia. A spokesperson for Sears Holdings said 46 unprofitable stores nationwide will be shuttered in November as the gasping retail giant tries to focus on the most successful stores while streamlining operations and improving its capital position.

“We continue to evaluate our network of stores, which is a critical component to our integrated retail transformation, and will make further adjustments as needed,” the company said in a release. “We thank associates affected by these store closures for their many contributions to our company.”

Liquidation sales will begin as early as Aug. 30 at the stores.

Here are the stores closing in Georgia that were just announced:

Sears

  • 2860 Cumberland Mall, Atlanta, Georgia

Sears

  • 100 Mall Blvd Suite 300, Brunswick, Georgia

Sears

  • Oglethorpe Mall, 7810 Abercorn Street, Savannah, Georgia

Over the past year, the chain announced the closure of more than 160 Sears and Kmart stores.

Sears reported a net loss of $424 million during the first quarter of 2018.

The latest impacted employees — the final number of which wasn’t immediately available — were informed of the imminent closures this week.

Some workers will receive severance and be able to apply for open positions at nearby Kmart and Sears stores. Customers can use the store locator function on the Sears website to find those locations.

Less than three months ago, there was another round of closures. At the end of May, Sears announced three other Georgia stores were closing, leaving 11 Sears stores — not including appliance outlets, HomeTown stores or auto centers — left in Georgia.

That means that now, there are eight Sears stores in Georgia have not been impacted, and they are as follows:

  • Athens, 3700 Atlanta Highway, Suite 270
  • Atlanta, Northlake Mall, 2201 Henderson Mill Road NE
  • Augusta, 3450b Wrightsboro Road
  • Douglasville, 6580 Douglas Boulevard
  • Duluth, 2100 Pleasant Hill Road
  • Gainesville, 150 Pearl Nix Parkway
  • Kennesaw, 400 Ernest W Barrett Parkway NW
  • Morrow, 1300 Southlake Mall
