If you are eating barbecue in Virginia Highlands, and you’re find the food great and the service better, you are probably at D.B.A. Barbecue.

Mekia, our server, delivered waters to our table the first time she stopped to welcome us.  We didn’t even have to ask for them!  This being our first visit, we asked for suggestions and were treated to a wealth of knowledge.

Mekia’s suggestions for brisket, which my companion chose, was tender and absolutely delicious.  My pulled pork sandwich was fantastic, and there are several sauces on the table so you can get the spiciness you enjoy most.  Our sides included collard green, cole slaw, and French fries, all of which were beyond enjoyable.  Really good fries!  Portion sizes were generous and prices were fair.  Lunch for two was $30 plus tip.

So from our arrival, with easy and free parking only steps from the door (and in Virginia Highlands!), to friendly and quick service followed by delicious food, eating at D.B.A. Barbecue was a very positive experience.
